About the Island:

Bois Blanc Island is about fourteen miles long by seven miles wide island. It is located in Straits of Mackinac between the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. Much of the island is owned by the State of Michigan. Its forest contains white pine, Norway pine, cedar and birch. The wildlife is diverse in population. There are approximately 54 year round residents.

About the Foundation:

The purpose of the Bois Blanc Island Community Foundation is to support and promote charitable, scientific, literary, educational and cultural programs and projects which protect, preserve and cultivate the rich heritage of the island. Our foundation is affiliated to the Community Foundation of Northeast Michigan which allows us to take advantage of their administrative expertise.

JULY 12, 2019

The BBICF's annual fund raising event, will take place in the Wagner Room from 5 pm to 8 pm. Come enjoy the first cookie and chili cook-off....   Adult teams competing for the best chili and the kids teams for the best cookie. Be prepared to bid in the silent auction, bask in music performed by local musicians and bring your happiest face to the photo booth.

Beverages (and Beano) will be provided by the BBICF.

Cost: Adults $15, 10 years old and under, $10. Tickets sold at the door.

Annual East vrs. West Softball Game

Bible Farm

Rain Date: August 3rd

Youth Frisbee golf will start at noon. The adult softball game begins at 2 p.m. Food will be available for purchase. Volunteers are needed to help with the games.

Fire Department Update:


Bois Blanc Island is made up mainly of birch, pine and cedar which are highly flammable. Before you build an open fire, you are required to get permission. Please contact one of the following FFITFD member for permission.
