Bois Blanc Island is sparsely populated making it the perfect escape for those who enjoy the outdoors. There are approximately 47 full time residents and many people own homes on the island to enjoy during the beautiful summer months. Its remote location and brutal winters has kept the population to a minimum since the beginning.
During the twentieth century, Bois Blanc's wilderness supported a lucrative lumber industry before giving way to tourism. Now a days, many People visit the island.
Guests arrive by ferry, plane, and helicopter. Ferry from Cheboygan. Two airlines provide service from Cheboygan, St. Ignace and Pellston

There are not enough superlatives to describe our wonderful time at Insel Haus. We came to rest and rest we did. The warmth of our hosts and the beauty of our surroundings gave us a few days of paradise. We are so grateful to have experienced this fabulous island resort.
